Proverbs 16:9 The Passion Translation
9 “Within your heart you can make plans for your future,
but the Lord chooses the steps you take to get there.”
It’s good to have goals. It’s good to set a course of action to achieve them. The thing is,
God may have an,,,,, “interesting” path for you to take.
If you desire a good thing, God will not hold that back from you. It just may not take the form or the timeline you were expecting.
See, my goal may be way up the road.
I may become so hyper focused on it that it’s ALL I can see.
But God has me on this journey.
It has stops and bumps and turns and detours.
I may not like those because in my eyes,
they are slowing me down from reaching my goal.
I can have plans but life is made up of moments.
The moment I am in right now is the most important thing because I’m not guaranteed the next one.
So what will I do with this one?
Will I kick and scream and fight against the delay or the detour?
OR,,,, will I look for the opportunity within these moments? These little slices of time that expire.
I can’t relive them.
I can’t get them back.
If I look too far up the road, I may miss the opportunity right in front of me.
An opportunity to do good.
To help someone.
To spread a little love.
To do what God has put me on this earth to do!
To live each moment for HIS GLORY!
